Metaphysical Record

The project I created in 2019 explores the boundaries between reality and imagination.
Abstract landscapes depicting distant and inaccessible places transform into projections of my imagination, transcending reality once captured by the camera.

This project documents a journey that originated in my mind and, through photography, leaves a tangible trace of it.
I drew inspiration from aerial photography, where the perspective of viewing landscapes from above reveals fascinating abstract images, often different from our preconceived notions.

From above, shapes, textures, colors, and patterns emerge—details that cannot be seen from the ground. Rarely do I have the chance to admire the world from a bird's-eye view, and I only travel to space in my dreams. This perspective deeply inspired me and sparked my imagination.

Photographs from this vantage point, resembling abstract paintings, evoke diverse associations in viewers. Looking at the same image, each person sees something different.

I often feel that what we perceive and interpret reflects a portrait of our inner subconscious states.
In this project, I blur the boundaries of reality's recognizability. By presenting large-scale prints and open compositions, I aim to immerse the viewer in the illusion of continuing the journey beyond themselves.
